Renée Leon was appointed Secretary of the Department of Employment on 18 September 2013. Renée has been in the public sector for over 20 years. She has served as Deputy Secretary in the Attorney-General’s Department and in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Renée also spent three years as Chief Executive of the Act Department of Justice and Community Safety, where she led the amalgamation of a broad range of public safety agencies into the Department.
Renée is qualified in Arts and Law and holds a Masters in Law from Cambridge University. She was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2013 for outstanding public service to public administration and law in leadership roles in the Australian Capital Territory and the Commonwealth.
Renée is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Public Policy at the Australian National University. She has served on the Boards of the Australian Institute of Criminology, the National Australia Day Council, and the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency, and was a member of the Council of the Order of Australia.
Deborah Homewood joined MAXNetWork as Managing Director in June, 2012. Deborah brings more than 16 years experience as a CEO with her. She started her career as a Queensland State Registered Nurse and went on to receive a Masters of Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management. In 2005, Deborah was selected as the NSW Corporate and Government Telstra Business Woman of the Year. Before joining MAXNetWork, Deborah was the Australia and New Zealand CEO of Pacnet. Deborah is very active in the community; she is a member of the Sydney Cove Rotary and a member of Chief Executive Women.

Kary has nineteen years experience in operational management and contract management in Employment and Training Services, nine of these have been with Job Futures Ltd in a variety of roles. Job Futures works with community based employment services providers to deliver services in partnership. This enables them to provide timely, community centric approaches to solving difficult employment problems. As General Manager, Partnerships and Development, Kary is responsible for Job Futures growth which is achieved in a large part through the formation of strategic partnerships. In 2012 Kary led the Job Futures tender team to unprecedented success with Job Futures securing the largest number of DES-ESS contracts awarded (31 contracts valued at over $200 million).

Shane has worked in the Employment Services Industry for 14 years, starting his career in Job Network as an Employment Consultant and progressing through to Site and Performance Management roles. In 2005 Shane established Job Services Central, a training, support and consultancy service to the Australian Employment Services Industry. Job Services Central has grown over the last 8 years to provide training to over 3500 staff working in Employment Services and consultancy to over 40 different organisations delivering JSA, DES and RJCP. Job Services Central currently partners with a number of Organisations in areas such as Performance, Compliance, Training, Systems, Tendering and Support. Shane has been involved in many government research and policy studies concerning employment services and has a strong passion for quality systems and professional development within the Industry.
